Classic parquet
General technical characteristics of the classic parquet
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION: Classic parquet strips are produced with lateral and frontal groove and tongue, as well left and right. (BAS EN 13226). Right Parquet strip is the one whose front tongue is on the right side and the left whose front tongue is on the left side, when the face of the strip is turned up and sideways to the observer.
Parquet plank is manufactured in lengths of 200 to 500 mm and widths from 42 to 80 mm.
SPECIES OF WOOD: The following types of wood are used for making strips
- Oak
- Ash tree
- steamed beech
- Other types of wood to customer specification
TREATMENT: All surfaces of the parquet strip must be smooth and opposite sides parallel with sharp edges. Marginal and frontal edges of the upper side (face) must be direct to one another. Deviation from the right angle of 0.4% of strip width is allowed.
Connection between the grooves and tongue must not be loose or too tight.
HUMIDITY: Operating Humidity is 9 ± 2% in relation to absolutely dry wood. It is checked by calibrated electric hygrometer on the principle of random sampling.
FLAWS ALLOWED ON ALL STRIPS:
- The deviation from flatness of the surface on the face, in some places to a depth of 0.5 mm.
- The deviation from flatness of the surface on the reverse side to 5% of the thickness of the lower layer, at 50% of the surface.
- Deviation from flatness of the tongue to 1/3 of the length
- In the lower layer of the strip all flaws unlimited (except rottenness).
GRADING: Referenced in Tables 1 and 2.
