Oak (Quercus) is a type of tree, plant, synonymous with durability and strength.
Oak trees are important in the northern temperate regions. There are about 200 species. Most trees grow as big trees. Male inflorescences are in long and rare fringes with 6-10 stamens. Female flowers are individually in cupule. Ovary consists of three fertile leaves. During the blooming, the cup is small and like a bud. Later it becomes wrinkled, bigger or smaller cup, which is covered with short and mostly subsided and stubby or elongated scales. The cup is one fruit, acorn, which is egg-shaped.
